As the summer sun set on the final days of August, the UKSN gathered for a weekend at Rough Close Scout Camp. Running from the 30th August to the 1st September, our annual UKSN Summer Camp was nothing short of awesome. Here’s a comprehensive look at what made this camp so special and why you should mark your calendars for our next adventure: the UKSN Halloween Camp.
A Fun-Filled Weekend of Activities
This year’s summer camp was powered by EcoFlow, a leading name in portable power solutions, who generously provided goodie bags.
The excitement was palpable as members embarked on a thrilling hunt for hidden raffle tickets, leading to loot drops that added an extra layer of fun to the weekend. The EcoFlow presence at the camp was impressive, with nearly the entire range of their products available for members to explore.
EcoFlow: Powering Our Summer Camp
From portable power stations to solar panels, attendees had the chance to see firsthand how EcoFlow’s technology can enhance outdoor adventures and self-sufficiency. Glyn, our resident EcoFlow ambassador and UKSN founder was on hand throughout the weekend offering expert advice and demonstrating the products’ capabilities. We even had a few members from the EcoFlow Official Facebook Group pop down to see us!
A Feast for the Senses
No UKSN camp would be complete without a touch of culinary delight. On Friday morning we got to experience Garys famous breakfast stew, and on Saturday, members were treated to complimentary bacon sandwiches—a perfect start to the day.
As evening approached, the campfire came alive with the aroma of chilli, served under the MudDogs Charter parachute shelter. The chilli evening was a highlight, providing a perfect opportunity for members to gather around the fire, share stories, and enjoy a hearty meal.
Drone Demonstrations and More
Technology enthusiasts were in for a treat with our drone demonstrations. We had the new DJI Avata 2 in action, showcasing its impressive features and capabilities. The opportunity to see the latest in drone technology up close was a hit among members, and many took the chance to learn more about how drones can be used in various outdoor and survival scenarios.
Community Spirit and Camaraderie
The true essence of UKSN lies in its community spirit, and this summer camp was a testament to that. Members from across the UK came together, sharing experiences, learning new skills, and forging lasting friendships.
